Rasavada

The taste of bliss in the absence of all thought . Sanskrit

This is what I try to achieve every time I sit down to create. Its like a drug really. That point where you are creating without thought.

I often describe my creative process as a dust devil. There's this tiny spec on the horizon and as it builds and collects energy it becomes this massive ball of traveling earth! Yes I know, sounds a bit dramatic...... true though! When its time for me to work, I'll start doing small things and before I know it I'm creating something awesome!

Well, this week it was more like a tornado than a dust devil. There were not enough hours in the day. I have been getting up at 4 in the morning and working all day into the night. It's a good thing I love what I do.

While I was in Oklahoma this past month I had the thought of making a new sign for my booth. Something portable and eye catching. I have been working on re imagining my booth for several months. As much as I love making jewelry it has become a very competitive category in the art fair world. I'm always trying to find ways to add a little magic to my world. With a lot of help from my beautiful Goddess friend Shannon, here is what we came up with.

It is about 4 feet tall from the top to the tassel at the bottom. It was inspired by my love of Mehndi,a Middle Eastern art form, Buddhism, and ancient Viking Music. Im not kidding when I say world inspired....

I used to be afraid that one day I would run out of ideas. My creative fountain would dry up. Well, it seems that the opposite is happening. The older I get the more I have to give.

In some cultures there isn't a word for art. All of life is approached in a creative fashion. For me this is absolutely true. The term Walk in beauty takes on a whole new meaning.

What if everyone lived they're life in a beautiful way. Made everything they did a tribute to the creator, made everything they did beautiful?

Something to think about.
