Here And There

There was no where to go but everywhere, so just keep rolling under the stars.~ Jack Kerouac

Three months on the road. What a great trip! I've been home about a week and still getting used to indoor plumbing!

We started out in Northern New Mexico and ended up in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I had to keep pinching myself, every place we went was more beautiful than the next.

And then there were all the great people. I am convinced that if politicians left us alone we would all get along so much better. Everywhere I went the people were kind and thoughtful. I met every type of person this summer and had so many wonderful conversations.

About a year ago I started playing with old hats. Cleaning them up, making hat bands. I brought them all up to the Black Hills and had a great time showing them. Hats and jewelry are such personal talismans for people. Its especially great when I can bring an old hat back to life and then it finds a new home to be enjoyed all over again.

I spent almost all summer in the Black Hills this year. Not only was it great fun but inspiring as well. I set up my gypsy studio next to the jewelry this year and was able to make custom work and also keep stocked all summer, and of course the view was awesome!

I was determined to teach Bella how to kayak this summer as well. She wasn't all that convinced that it was a good idea. She would see me paddle off and want to go but knew it was too far to swim.

Then we combined ball with kayak. Everything goes well with ball!

I could go on and on about how great my summer was. How much I love the Black Hills. That would start to be annoying though! Those of you who have been already know and those who haven't need to put this trip on their bucket list!

I sold pretty much everything I had listed on my website store. I've spent the last week taking pictures and just starting to list new work. Switching over to the other side of my brain is tricky! I will be listing new work several times a week between now and Christmas so stay tuned! I am also offering gift certificates to make things easy!

The last part of my journey was in Ruidoso, New Mexico at the Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium. It was a great way to end the summer tour. If you have never gone you should put it on your to do list. The music was fantastic and once again the people were great. Ill end this post with one of my favorite bands, Asleep At The Wheel. The first time I saw them was at Waterloo Records in Austin several years ago. They were great then and even better now!

Well that's it for this week! Please be sure to check out my store on ginnywolfstudio.com. Have a wonderful day!
