Sometimes I feel like a migratory bird. Im off to Arizona to start my show season. I have been working non stop since December making beautiful things for the website and also for these two shows coming up.
Balancing jewelry, hats and leather. A good combination I think!
I will be at two great shows in Arizona. First stop Cave Creek just north of Phoenix.

The weather here in the southwest has been very warm this winter. I am hoping for a beautiful couple of weeks!
We're going to spend a week camping out in the Sonoran desert. Get in touch with our wild side for a bit!
I love those long walks with Bella. Its the best therapy! I learned about walking meditation from Thich Nhat Hanh.
When you practice walking meditation, you go for a stroll. You have no purpose or direction in space or time. The purpose of walking meditation is walking meditation itself. Its hard to get Bella to do walking meditation. She's too busy chasing anything that moves. I have noticed lately when I stop to meditate she is starting to meditate with me. We do this thing where we listen to the sounds around us. I guess its something a dog can relate to.
I get some of my best ideas for pieces on those long walks. I also find treasures like this old tin roofing.
So after this week of mindless wandering we will be heading back to the city for the Wigwam Festival of Fine Arts. It is held at the Wigwam resort in Litchfield, Arizona, just west of Phoenix. This will be the second time I've attended. Last year we got rained out. Yes rain in Arizona........ Hopefully the Gods will be kind this year!

So something else happened recently. Something wonderful My dear friend Aniase offered to teach me how to solder and rivet and all kinds of wonderful things! I spent 3 days with her and filled my head to the brim!
I have been wanting to learn these things for such a long time. She also taught me pierce work using a jewelers saw, how to make my own rivets, polishing techniques, patinas, bezel work, I could go on and on here! Now I just have to get all the tools and there will be no stopping me! Very excited!
