This has been my view for the past few weeks.Every morning I half expect to see a herd of elephants walk by or hear the roar of a lion. I have seen many types of birds, coyotes and antelope. One morning I looked out my window to find four snowy egrets sitting in the tree outside my window.
Living the road life has made me feel way more connected with the natural world. I’m noticing the stars at night and the way the desert smells after a rain.
The desert has been good for me creatively as well. It’s a challenge at first when your studio is on wheels. Setting things up, then relaxing into the space.
Right now I have electricity so I can use all my tools. At some point when we are boondocking I’ll have to do things with very little electric. We will eventually get set up for solar but right now it will just be the generator. It will challenge me to create in more natural ways. I’m always up for a challenge!
I’ve loaded up the website store with many treasures for this upcoming holiday season.
Also the two holiday sales coming up.The first being the pop up gallery at Vicki’s Eatery on Market st in downtown Silver City. November 29,30 & December 1. I’ll be joined this year with Deb Hutchings a local artist. We’ll be set up the same hours as the restaurant.
The other event is the Silver City Artisan Holiday Sale at the Conference Center also in Silver City. The dates on this on are December 7 & 8. There are so many talented artists in this area so I’m sure it will be a great show.
Once we’re done with these shows we’ll be hitting the road again. Heading back up to Albuquerque for the holidays then Southeast Arizona to check out some new possibilities.
One of the challenges to this new life is figuring out how to do blog posts on my IPhone. WiFi is not always an option.... I hope this comes out ok. I apologize ahead of time !
