Rising Appalachia ~ Resilient

How is everyone doing out there? I thought I would share a day in my life. What I'm doing to live my life in these troubling times.

~ Mornings ~

I've added a few things this past year for a healthy body and spirit. Lemon water first thing in the morning. Even before coffee. Yes I know.... It took some getting used to but now I love it. Its very important to hydrate in the morning, plus Vitamin C never hurts.

Once I finish my coffee its time for Bella's morning walk, and to be honest mine as well. No matter where we are in our travels I always take time for this. At some point on our walk I stop and meditate and do some breathe work.

What is breathe work, you ask? Yes we breathe. Its a mindless thing we do. In Out. The thing is we don't breathe very deeply most of the time. Wimpy little breaths. When you consciously breathe its a totally different thing. It feels really good! Here is just one example. Wim Hoff is a Dutch extreme athlete. He is known for his Ice baths and breathing technique. I haven't tried the ice baths but love his breath work.

Once I finish with breath I settle in for meditation. I was taught by a dear friend years ago and have added to it. Here it is.

Sit in a comfortable position. I'm usually on a rock or fallen log. Get comfortable, look at your surroundings. Close your eyes.

I do 4 breaths in hold 4 out for a few rounds. I visualize the breath coming up from Mother Earth, up my spine and out the top of my head, then reverse down into the earth.

I notice if there are any tense spots in my body, acknowledge it and let it go.

Next and this is the best part I listen. Its amazing how beautiful the music of nature is. When a raven flies by you can hear the flap of its wings. The sound of birds migrating, singing to each other.

I do this for as long as I can. Once you feel your done, open your eyes , stretch a bit. There have been a few times when I open my eyes there have been deer sitting there staring at me!

I love this morning routine. It makes the rest of the day so much better. I've noticed that Bella has started meditating along with me.

What else have I been up to? Creating of course. Its therapy for me as much as my livelihood.

Something different these days is that I create with intention. What does that mean? I try to be infuse good energy into everything I do. I guess I always have done that, I'm just amping it up a bit these days.

Now more than ever its important to set our intention. Its the birth of a new world. One that can be awesome and beautiful. I was thinking the other day its kind of like a collective near death experience for a lot of us. I almost died when I was in my twenties. Afterwards when I recovered life seemed so amazing. Colors were brighter, food was better, music was amazing. I loved my family and friends that much more. I am hoping that when we get through this, and we will, the world will have a greater appreciation for life and nature.

That's it for this week. I am sending you all love and light. I just finished listing more work on my website shop. I know times are tough for many right now but if you can afford a new treasure I would surely be grateful for the business. Just go to ginnywolfstudio.com and hit the shop button.

One more thing before I go. I made stickers! Its my new logo. If you would like one email me your address and I'll send you one!

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close. ~ Pablo Neruda
