Seasons Change

Its autumn in the Black Hills........Sort of. With climate change nothing is ever what we are used to. It will be 90 degrees here in the hills today. Four years ago this time of year we had snow. Tomorrow we will probably get 2 feet of snow! Ha!

My move to the Bullock Hotel is done. I love my new space!!! This beautiful sign was created by local Spearfish artist Tim Peterson. Small but mighty! The week of the move has been intense to say the least. The day we moved out of Cheyenne Crossing as usual we took the dogs for a walk in the woods. Andy points out this huge bird of prey, maybe an eagle, fly over us. As he was going over a solitary feather floated down out of the sky. Spiraling down towards us! It was magic to be sure!

After the walk we moved all of our stuff out of my little studio. I had such mixed feelings of excitement and sadness. Lots of good memories. The next day a friend messaged me that Cheyenne Crossing had caught fire in the night. The kitchen and pantry burned, the rest smoke and water damage. Geez....... As with any move a person will second guess, have thoughts of, am I doing the right thing. Well I don't have any second thoughts anymore! The universe definitely had my back!

I'm pretty much moved in completely. Still have some merchandise coming so will add on as I go.

I am in love with this beautiful place. Completely different than my little studio in the canyon. It feels very grown up.......

One thing I was determined to do was go to Seth and Martha's grave site and ask for their blessing. They are both buried at the top of Mount Moriah cemetery . Andy & I brought a bottle of whiskey introduced ourselves and asked for their blessing. We'll see what happens. So far so good.

I'm sorry I don't have any new work to show you. I'm planning on sitting down to work soon. Moving as you all know is exhausting. This weekend in Deadwood is Oktoberfest. It was my goal to be open for this event! I did it! Next week I'll try and make some new work and post it on the website. If your in the hills please come see me. My winter hours are Thursday thru Monday 11:00 am til 7:00 pm.

The Bullock Hotel is located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Deadwood. For those of you who would like to have breakfast and then shop with me Bully's Restaurant is open for breakfast. Its a really cute Victorian style dining room towards the back of the hotel. I'm going to be doing a post soon about all the cool things at the Bullock. Stay tuned. I will also give you a heads up when something fun is happening downtown.

That's about it for this week. Here's a good one from Sierra Ferrell. Blessings to each and every one of you beautiful souls. Sending love your way!
