The Last Of My Kind

The other day I saw a political sticker on the back of a truck. It had a politicians name on it with the next election year. Underneath it said " F****K Your Feelings. I usually don't pay much attention to these types of stickers but for some reason this one really got to me. The world is so messed up these days. Too many things wrong to list. Too many things wrong to point blame. Its easy to point a finger and try to blame someone, anyone. In the end its our own fault for not doing enough, not caring enough.

So what can you do? When life seems over whelming. Baby steps. Be kind to each other. If you see something that isn't right or fair, say something. Have compassion for each other. Everyone has their own movie going on. Its amazing what a simple smile can do. Don't let politicians or the media divide us. In the words of one of my favorite people John Trudell, In the end we are all human beings trying to be human. Ok, Im done. Thanks for listening!

I've really been into my bone thing these days. I started a few years ago. I've always been a doodler, mostly on paper. Then I started collecting bones I would find on our hikes and one day started drawing on them. Bones are so beautiful by themselves. Drawing on them is a way for me to honor the being it was. This piece was going on the website shop until I sold it yesterday.

It is a black bear skull. The drawings are Celtic and Nordic runes. The hummingbird is my adaptation of Leonardo DaVinci's hummingbird drawing. I also added wild roses and my own drawings.

I've just listed several bone pieces as well as jewelry and leather work. Please check out my shop on the website for all the recent work. www.ginnywolfstudio.com

Its been a bit of a roller coaster ride with the weather here. Last Weds. Andy and I rode to Custer for the day and it was beautiful! The next day it snowed, 26 degrees....... Needless to say some of my little plants in the garden froze. That's what I get for being in too much of a hurry to get the garden in. Its all good though. Summer is coming!

I'll leave you with some good tunes. Valerie June. I love everything about her,

This song was my inspiration for the title of this weeks blog. Jason Isbell.

Ok, I'm on a roll. One more, Flatland Cavalry

Before I go I want to give a shout out to all the song writers and musicians. It is really important to support them right now. With the pandemic a lot of musicians had their livelihoods taken away. Even when things lightened up so many had shows canceled at the last minute. Suggestions are to join mailing lists of favorite artists. Buy tickets in advance so the show doesn't get canceled. Its up to us to support the arts. What would the world be like without live music! Take Care.
