The Peace Of Wild Things

When despair for the world grows in me

and I wake in the night at the least sound

in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,

I go and lie down where the wood drake

rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.

I come into the peace of wild things

who do not tax their lives with forethought

of grief. I come into the presence of still water.

And I feel above me the day-blind stars

waiting with their light. For a time

I rest in the grace of the world, and am free. ~ Wendell Berry

Its been awhile. The move to Deadwood has been good. Just been trying to adjust to the business of this town, and still have a life. I guess its the same for anyone self employed. The balance game. I'm not quite there yet so forgive me for not posting in a while.

Andy & I managed to get out of town for a bit in April. We went to southern Utah. It was amazing. The scenery was something out of an old western. We went to get out of the cold a bit. April is still winter here in the Black Hills. Unfortunately its been a cold season everywhere. We got a couple warm days then it got cold again so we headed home. After all the years of travel I find that its ok to be home. I enjoy having a somewhat normal life anymore.

I've really been into my medicine skulls. Working with bigger skulls lately. This was my first and sold before I finished it. Lots of surface area to work with! I'm working on another one right now.

These two have been sold but if your interested let me know. The larger skulls I tend not to ship as the weight would be very expensive to ship. If you live in the area though, reach out.

I've really enjoyed all the events they have here in Deadwood. Been meeting lots of new people and also old friends are finding my new location. Recently Deadwood Custom Cycles put on a fantastic bike show. For those of you who have known me awhile, know I have been involved with bike shows in the past. Jason & Charlie Mook did a fantastic job. I had a booth with my work and Andy entered his beloved Gila Monster. The shovelhead he lovingly refurbished. Well all his hard work payed off. He won 2nd place in his category, our friend Beaver won first place. It was a great day. We will definitely be attending next year.

I have also been creating lots of work for this upcoming season. I just finished loading up the website shop with lots and lots of goodies. I will try to keep updating but apologize ahead of time if I can't. This success thing...... A blessing for sure but also a bit scary!

These pieces and many more are now available on my website shop at www.ginnywolfstudio.com. I don't push selling my work but please don't procrastinate if you see something you like. As you know most of what I create is one of a kind.

One of the ways I relax is to watch music videos. It also gets my creative energy going.

Here are a couple videos I found recently on Youtube. The first is Boz Scaggs.

Here's one from Billy Bragg.

Ok then! I hope you are all happy and healthy out there in the world. If your ever in the Deadwood area the gallery is open Weds thru Monday. Stop by and say hello! I'll leave you with a few more pictures. The first one is from our trip south. The second is Waylon enjoying his stick on a camping trip.

Blessings. Until next time.
